Tennis Tournament Sculpture
The Western Southern Tennis Tournament acknowledged the importance of having an aesthetically pleasing element in front of their VIP lounge.
The Story
The sculpture was designed to give VIP attendees a dedicated space for memorable photos. Recognizing the value of a striking visual anchor outside their VIP lounge, the Western & Southern Tennis Tournament commissioned a piece that would serve as a focal point, somewhere guests could capture images marking their exclusive access to one of tennis's most prestigious events.
The build centered on two primary materials: walnut wood and plexiglass. Both were precision-cut on a CNC machine and assembled with a combination of staples and adhesive. A premium primer was applied throughout to weatherproof the structure, protecting the wood and overall integrity from rain exposure.
To tie the finished piece directly to the tournament, we partnered with Western & Southern Linder Tennis to fill the sculpture with tennis balls, a playful, dynamic detail that grounded the design in its setting and reinforced the connection to the event itself.
